Privacy Policy
Your trust matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information Ghanas Event collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process data needed to run discovery, ticketing, organiser tools, and support. We do not sell personal information.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Ghanas Event, we may collect:
- Account details such as name, email, phone, city, region, and profile preferences.
- Event and ticket activity — saved events, purchases, ticket references, check-in status.
- Organiser information including public bio, contacts, and business details needed for operations.
- Device and usage data such as browser type, IP address, and interaction logs.
- Payment references from processors like Paystack. We do not store full card numbers or mobile-money PINs.
2. Signing in with Google
When you use "Sign in with Google", Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture as authorised during sign-in. We use this only to create and manage your Ghanas Event account, personalise your experience, and communicate about account activity.
We do not use Google Sign-In data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Our use of information from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

- Creating and securing accounts
- Processing ticket purchases, confirmations, QR/PDF delivery, and refunds
- Helping organisers publish and manage events
- Improving discovery, search, and recommendations
- Preventing fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Meeting legal, tax, and compliance obligations
4. How we share information
We share data only when necessary:
- With organisers for ticket fulfilment and event operations
- With service providers that host, secure, and operate the platform
- With payment providers to complete transactions
- When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand product usage. See our Cookie Policy for details. Disabling cookies may affect sign-in and checkout.
6. Retention and security
We retain data as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. We apply administrative, technical, and organisational controls to protect information, though no system is perfectly secure.
7. Your rights and choices
You may update profile information in account settings and request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal data. To delete your account, follow the steps on our account deletion page or contact support. If you signed in with Google, you can revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.
8. Children's privacy
Ghanas Event is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review and remove data where appropriate.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure and providers may process data in Ghana and other countries. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards when data moves across borders.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date.
